This book contains 16 activities ideal for use in morning tubs with children in Kindergarten (Prep/Foundation). This particular set serves as a revision of skills and concepts from previous packets. Set 9 will continue with slightly more difficult concepts.
Beginning sounds puzzles (7 sets)
Children will say the name of the picture in each box and place the puzzle piece with the matching beginning sound on top.
Ending sounds puzzles (7 sets)
Children will say the name of the picture in each box and place the puzzle piece with the matching ending sound on top.
Short vowel middle sounds puzzles (7 sets)
Children will say the name of the picture in each box and place the puzzle piece with the matching short vowel middle sound on top.
Word family (onset and rime) puzzles (7 sets)
Children will say the name of the picture in each box and place the puzzle piece with the matching rime on top.
CVC words puzzles (7 sets)
Children will say the name of the picture in each box and place the puzzle piece with the matching CVC word on top.
Beginning blends puzzles (7 sets)
Children will say the name of the picture in each box and place the puzzle piece with the matching beginning blend on top.
Scrambled sight word puzzles (7 sets)
Children will unscramble the letters in each box to make a sight word. They will then place the puzzle piece with the matching sight word on top.
Sentence-picture match
Materials needed: household pegs
Children will read the two sentences on the card and determine which one matches the picture on the card. They will clip a peg on the correct sentence.
Missing numbers puzzles: 1-10, 11-20, 10-100 (skip counting by 10) (7 sets)
Children will read the number sequence in each box and determine the missing number. They will then place the puzzle piece with the missing number on top.
Numbers more and less puzzles: 1 and 10 (7 sets)
Children will read the number in each box and determine the number that is 1 more or 1 less, or 10 more or 10 less. They will then place the puzzle piece with the matching number on top.
Number sense puzzles (7 sets)
Children will determine the number represented by the dominoes, ten frames, tally marks and fingers in each box. They will then place the puzzle piece with the matching number on top.
Base 10 blocks puzzles: 10-80 (7 sets)
Children will determine the number represented by the base 10 blocks in each box. They will then place the puzzle piece with the matching number on top.
2D shapes puzzles (7 sets)
Children will determine the shape of the every day item in each box. They will then place the puzzle piece with the matching 2D shape on top.
3D shapes puzzles (7 sets)
Children will determine the shape of the every day item in each box. They will then place the puzzle piece with the matching 3D shape on top.
Addition puzzles (7 sets)
Children will determine the sum of the addition problem in each box. They will then place the puzzle piece with the matching answer on top.
Subtraction puzzles (7 sets)
Children will determine the difference of the subtraction problem in each box. They will then place the puzzle piece with the matching answer on top.
